The Artist’s Place.

Welcome to The Artist’s Place, a studio and specialty-printing service created by artist, Lynnette Smallwood. Born in the beautiful coastal mountainous region of British Columbia in Western Canada, Lynnette is a self-taught artist, published photographer and graphic illustrator. She has also enjoyed a very successful career in floral design for both retail and wholesale showrooms, in addition to creating regular public shows of merchandise displays for department stores in major cities throughout Canada.

Lynnette’s creativity flourished working with mixed mediums to create unusual and thought provoking art in pastels and acrylics, which is the medium she chose to work with to complete two generously illustrated book consignments.

More recently, Lynnette has turned her considerable skills to the design and creation of stain-glass overlay on both glass and mirrors and has worked with construction developers to create unique kitchen cabinets, decorative room-dividers, shower door designs and sun-deck balustrades.

Now a resident of Rotorua, Lynnette continues to create exciting and unique artwork from her own studio and has embarked on a distinctive art form of photographing reflections of light in, on and through a variety of different glass forms. As you review Lynnette’s creations you can see that she believes in staying away from ‘boxes’ and from creating within strict parameters. In fact, her favourite question is “What if?” and her resulting creations have a unique way of drawing the viewer into their own imaginations.

In addition to the masterful blends of colour and light she creates with her photography, Lynnette now supplies a top grade, museum quality, Giclee print facility for local artists’ work, specialising in larger prints for limited edition work, using top quality paper and canvas.

Lynnette’s artwork is unique and very collectible.
